Dear Readers,<br />
When my wife Karen and I arrived on campus nearly 10 years ago, I was struck by the<br />
warm, welcoming community and an institution of higher learning that had played<br />
a transformative role in the region. We knew then that this university was poised for<br />
excellence—Texas A&M University-Kingsville had reached its moment of opportunity. I<br />
noted in my inaugural speech that seizing that moment would require the dedication and<br />
hard work of our administrators, faculty, staff and students.<br />
