Letter from the President
Dear Readers,
Nearly 100 years ago, when the founders of our institution joined with students
to select the school’s mascot, the javelina emerged as a front runner due to its
prevalence in the area and because of its grit and tenacity.
Never have those qualities been tested more than this year. The pandemic has
taken a toll on Americans and presented universities across the nation with
unprecedented challenges.
You will read more about how Texas A&M-Kingsville continues to respond to the
ongoing public health crisis in these pages.
I am proud of our faculty, staff, and students who are doing their part to keep
