Letter from the President
Dear Readers,
It was just over one year ago that I arrived at Texas A&M University-
Kingsville and joined the Javelina Family. Since then, I have spent time
with students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters learning from each
group what their hopes are for our institution. I continue to be inspired
by the stories I hear about how this university changes lives.
A common theme I have heard and one to which I am firmly committed is
the advancement of excellence at our university.
I believe we must focus on excellence in everything we do—from
research to teaching to service. Doing so creates in our students an
expectation of the highest achievement.
