Dear Faculty Colleagues,
As we approach the start of the Spring semester, we know that
your attention is focused on planning your classes and curriculum,
as it should be. It is not our desire to distract you from your focus
on our educational mission, but that is just what unionization
threatens to do on a continuing basis. We ask, therefore, that
you take some time to think about the important issue of SEIU’s
efforts to unionize the full-time instructional faculty and the part-
time adjunct faculty.
Those of you who were not at UT back in the dark days of the mid
1990’s when we were struggling with declining enrollments and
red ink were spared from the open discussions about whether
