Dear Readers:
There are so many reasons to be proud of Texas A&M University-Kings-
ville, but our students and alumni will always be number one on the list.
This May, we graduated our largest class in history and that covers more
than 90 years! In addition, this most recent graduating class was double the
size of the class that graduated when I arrived on campus eight years ago.
In this issue, we highlight one of the many students who truly represents
Javelina Nation. Lauren “Dani” Balderas is one of the first graduates from
our veterinary technology program, and she is continuing her education
