Weizenegger-Engel (W&E) Insurance is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Federated Insurance and a sister company to Primary Source<br />
Insurance (PSI). Federated purchased W&E in 2004 as a way to diversify its book of business. W&E agents are licensed in all states<br />
except for Hawaii, New Hampshire, Alaska, and Vermont. However, the company mainly services the Brainerd Lakes area.<br />
And now a century later — W&E celebrated 100 years of business in 2021 — lets take a look at the history of this great organization.<br />
1899<br />
After emigrating to the United States from Norway, Anton M.<br />
(A.M.) Opsahl worked as a photographer in Brainerd, Minnesota,<br />
prior to forming Opsahl Insurance, the predecessor to what<br />
would become Weizenegger-Engel InsuranceSM.<br />
