Team USA recently competed in Paris, France, topping<br />
the medal count with 126 medals. At the 1968 Olympic<br />
Summer Games in Mexico City, three men outperformed<br />
their competitors, making Phis everywhere proud. Bill<br />
Toomey, Colorado ’61, won gold in the decathlon and<br />
the title of World’s Greatest Athlete at twenty-nine, the<br />
oldest competitor in the field. Swimmer Charlie Hickcox,<br />
Indiana ’69, won three golds and one silver and was<br />
